All the Things I Never Got to Do with My Grandmother

2011 -

In 2011, while studying abroad in Ireland, I received a care package from my family. The contents of the package included books, foods, letters, birthday cards, Halloween decoration and a single thermal crew-neck shirt bag filled with the ashes of my late Grandmother. In the years since my possession of the ashes, I have begun to establish a relationship with my Grandmother that never existed while she was living. This relationship is created through a series of snapshots taken of myself holding the bag that my Grandmothers ashes reside in at various tourist locations and landmarks  across the globe, as to provide evidence for a memory in a relationship that never existed before.

This project is ongoing and will end when the last of the ashes have been spread.
